Georgianna (Haas) Knapp

Knapp, Georgianna (Haas) age 94, of Excelsior, MN, born Feb. 20 1917 in St. Paul, MN, peacefully passed away in her home with family by her side on Oct. 6, 2011. Georgianna was a 1931 graduate of St Mark's Grade School, St. Paul, a 1935 graduate of Convent of the Visitation High School, a 1939 graduate of College of St. Catherine, and co-owner of Knapp Radio & TV. Georgianna led a life of service through involvement in many civic and ecumenical communities, promoting service organizations and literacy. Her children describe her as generous, imaginative, humble, faith-filled and visionary. Always seeing the very best within them, Georgianna inspires every individual to grow to their greatest potential. She believes "all children are a gift from God." Preceded in death by her parents, siblings, and grandson, Travis Benjamin Knapp. Survived by husband, Richard J. Knapp Sr.; children, Claudia (Richard) Owens, COL Richard Jr. (Ione), Charles, Michael (Dee), Kitty (Bill) Hanz, Patty (Butch) Lambert, Georgianna (Jim) Saumweber, Gregory (Sara), Joseph (Deb), Fran, John III (Vicky), Henry (Nancy), Elizabeth (Art) Rosenberg. Also survived by many grandchildren, great- grandchildren, nieces, nephews, and friends. Memorial Mass of Christian Burial 9:30 AM Tues., Oct. 11, 2011 at St. John the Baptist Catholic Church, 680 Mill Street, Excelsior. Visitation 4-8 PM Mon., Oct. 10, 2011 in the Gathering Space at St. John's with prayer service at 7:00 PM, visitation also 8:45 AM before Mass. Interment, Fort Snelling National Cemetery. Chinander, D. Dean age 75, of Shorewood. Worked in the trucking industry for several area companies and was a longtime honorary member of the American Legion. Preceded in death by sons, Donald and Mark. Survived by wife of 56 years, Mary Ann; sons, Chris (Debra) and Dave (Marie); daughter, Mary (Patrick) Bowyer; grandchildren, Aaron, Danielle, Kelly, Mark, Adam, Sarah and Sean; great-grandchildren, Ethan, Brooke, Maddie and Brayden. Johnson, Dennis D. Age 57, of Shorewood, died 02/10/2011. Survived by daughters, Robin (Carlos) Rodriguez and Resa (Robbie) Robinson; 3 granddaughters, Adriana, Kaili, and Joey; sisters, Julie (Chuck) Jensen and Sandra (Chris) Morse; brothers, Larry and Harlan (Faye); and several nieces and nephews. Preceded in death by mother, father, step-father and brother. Dennis was employed by the City of Shorewood for 34 years before his retirement in 2009. Funeral Service at Excelsior United Methodist Church on Sat., March 5th at 11:00 AM.

Pivec, Rachel Vida nee Blair age 48, of Mound, MN, passed on September 26th, 2010. Born November 26th, 1961 in Robbinsdale, MN to Loyal W. and Bonnie (Blume) Blair. Preceded in death by her father, Loyal W. Blair; nephews, Dillon and Blair and niece, Hali. Survived by husband, Cory Pivec; sons, John and Daniel; mother, Bonnie Blair; mother-in-law and father-in-law, Lana and Donald Pivec; sister, Julia Blair; brother and sister-in-law, Tim and Tammy Blair; sisters-in-law, Kimberly Pivec, Sheri Pivec, Jackie Pivec and Matt Ring; nephews and nieces, Nicole, Travis and Jesse Mord, Christopher Blair, Luke and Ben Paulson, April, Dillion and Callie Anderson; as well as many other relatives and friends. Rachel grew up in Mound, graduated from MWHS in 1980. She had a long career in the printing industry. Her lifelong dream was to have her own print shop, and that came to pass as she opened Press Perfect in Mound, MN. She was a talented graphics designer. Her marriage to Cory Pivec and the births of 2 sons, John and Daniel were the center of her life. Services will be held at the River Valley Church, Mound Minnetrista Campus, formerly Mound Assembly of God Church, 5595 Westwood Avenue in Mound, MN, at 11 a.m. on Saturday, October 2, 2010 with gathering of family and friends from 9:30 a.m. Interment, Fairview Cemetery, Minnetrista, MN. Aspholm, N. Wayne Age 62 of Shorewood. Member of the American Legion Post 259, an avid hunter, fisherman and loved the outdoors. Wayne was also a huge fan of NHRA. Survived by wife, Joani Aspholm; children, Tammy (John) Gardner, Ryan Aspholm (fiancee Lacey Klungseth) and Nick Aspholm; grandchildren, Natalie, Olivia, Alex and Caralyn Gardner; mother, Dorothy Aspholm; brother, Brian Aspholm; sister, Wendy Dunkley (friend Ron Witter); nieces and nephews. Bernadine V. (Kniefel) Feller

Feller, Bernadine V. (Kniefel) age 83, of Hopkins, formerly of Tonka Bay; passed away surrounded by her loving family on April 18, 2010. Preceded in death by husband, Bernard (Bernie); daughters, Marcia Long and Cathy Fuller; infant granddaughter, Kaitlyn Wynne-Jones; brothers, Robert and Clem Kniefel; and sister, Helen Schneider. She will be greatly missed by her son, Steve (Nancy) Feller and daughter, Cindy (Ted) Wynne-Jones; sons-in-law, Patrick Long and Gary Fuller; grandchildren, Kenna and Cole Wynne-Jones, LeAnn and Sandy Fuller; brother, Anthony (Dolly) Kniefel; sister-in-law, Jean Kniefel; along with other dear family and friends. Bernie was a wonderful wife, mother, grandmother, sister and friend. She was a terrific cook, and very gifted at knitting, sewing and quilting. Bernie also travelled extensively with her husband after his retirement. Harold C. (Ole) Lyman

Lyman, Harold C. (Ole) of Deephaven, died peacefully on Feb. 22, 2010. He was greatly loved by Cynthia, his wife of 60 years; his children, Judy (Drake) Benson, Polly (Tim Conroy) Lyman, Gretchen (Bob) Amis, Susan (Tom) Deatherage, Marcia Lyman, and David (Beth) Lyman; grandchildren, Chad and Lauren Benson, Lindsay and Earl Littlepage, Eric Benson, Katy and Julie Conroy, Lucy, Brian and Susan Amis, Matthew, Laura and Lucas Deatherage, Anna and Pantelis Takos, Mark, Annie, William and Cynthia Lyman; great-grandchild, Gabrielle Littlepage; sister, Elizabeth (Bill) Peterson; and brother, Richard (Susan) Lyman. Preceded in death by brother, C. Arthur Lyman, Jr. Ole was a decorated Army Infantry Veteran of two major wars, in Korea and World War II. He played a very active role in several local non-profit organizations. He also took great joy in the community of St. Stephen's Church where he was a member for 55 years. He graduated from Shattuck and the University of Minnesota. He enjoyed a long successful career as a businessman. Theodore Richard Rix

Rix, Theodore Richard ‘Ted' age 84, of Excelsior, passed on February 9, 2010. Born September 6, 1925 in Des Moines, IA. to Fred and Essye (Price- Flaten) Rix. Preceded in death by his parents; loving wife, Margaret and son, Douglas. Survived by his sister, Marilouise Morgan; son, Donald, daughter-in-law Kiki and granddaughter Jamie Rix. Ted served in WWII as a US Navy Seaman First Class; he was a recipient of the China War Memorial Medal, Submarine Combat Pin and Philippine Liberation Star. He served on the NTS Faragut, USS Pargo and the USS Perch. Ted served as the Chief Deputy County Attorney - Hennepin County Attorneys Office. He was an avid outdoorsman and horseman, frequently challenged by the weather and gravity.
